Recipe Type: Condiment
This a sweet tart condiment that works well with most BBQ’ed meats.
- 2 red onions, sliced into rings
- 100g butter
- 80ml honey
- 100ml dry white wine
- 50ml balsamic vinegar
- In a saucepan:
- Brown the onions lightly in the butter.
- Add the honey and wine and cook gently for 45 minutes.
- Add the balsamic vinegar and salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve at room temperature.
- Add some crushed green peppercorns for a bit of zest!
